Staunton Officials to Provide Budget Update to City Council
During its meeting on April 9, City Council will receive an update concerning the FY2021 Budget.
City Confirms Additional Closures in Parks
Additional Parks and Recreation facilities in both Gypsy Hill Park and Montgomery Hall Park are closed, including Gypsy Hill Golf Course and tennis courts, pickle ball courts and the skate park.
City Services Still Accessible to Citizens
Effective immediately, the Public Works Customer Service hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. In light of Governor Northam’s Temporary Stay at Home Order, the City of Staunton government services are available by phone, email or online.

On Thursday evening, March 26, City Council adopted an emergency ordinance to provide immediate temporary relief to residents and business owners in Staunton.
Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Region Experiences First Positive COVID-19 Cases
The Virginia Department of Health’s Central Shenandoah Health District has informed Augusta County and the City of Staunton of two positive COVID-19 cases in Augusta County and one positive COVID-19 case in the City of Staunton.
City Council to Consider Emergency Ordinance for Temporary Relief
Tonight, City Council will consider a proposed emergency ordinance to provide temporary relief to local businesses and citizens.

City to Terminate Contract with Flock Safety for License Plate Readers
Staunton Police Chief Jim Williams in consultation with the City Manager and City Council, will move forward to cancel the city’s contract with Flock Safety, ending the use of the stationary automated license plate readers that have been installed in the city.
New J&DR Courthouse Opens in Staunton
City leadership, members of the Judiciary, and project partners gathered to cut the ribbon on the new Staunton Juvenile & Domestic Relations (J&DR) District Courthouse on Thursday.
City of Staunton Holiday Schedule Modifications

Downtown Tunnel Repair Contract Advances

Holiday travelers driving I-81 this week may notice a striking new feature on Staunton’s skyline. The City of Staunton’s new 1-million-gallon elevated water storage tank at Staunton Crossing has reached a major construction milestone with the lift of its 264-ton steel bowl.
