DESCRIPTION:The Program will consist of Music, Poetry, and Holiday Reflections of Gratitude for the year 2019. A brief dramatization of “Watch Night” will be performed. Watch Night is a very important service in the history of African Americans. It’s a celebration of thanking God for bringing African Americans through another year and celebrating how far African Americans have come as a people. Watch Night is also known as Freedom’s Eve and is traced to December 31, 1862. Black enslaved on that night came together in small gatherings and modest dwellings of worship to await news that the Emancipation Proclamation had become law. Please join us and bring a non-perishable food item for the Blue Ridge Food Bank. Light Refreshments will be served.<br><br>
