DESCRIPTION:<p>In accordance with the federal regulations at 24 CFR Part 91, the City of Staunton has prepared a 5-Year Consolidated Plan (CP) and an Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development and Planning Programs.&nbsp; This document is a requirement for direct financial assistance under certain HUD funding programs including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Beverley St.; Staunton, VA 24401</li>    <li>Staunton Public Library; 1 Churchville Avenue; Staunton, VA 24401</li>    <li>Staunton Redevelopment and Housing Authority; 900 Elizabeth Miller Gardens; Staunton, VA 24401</li></ul><p>The FY 2024-2028 5-Year Consolidated Plan &amp; FY 2024 Annual Action Plan contains the following major components:&nbsp;</p><ol>    <li>Identification of federal and non-federal resources reasonably expected to be made available during the program year to undertake activities.</li>    <li>A list of activities to be undertaken during the FY 2024 program year to address community development and housing needs established in the City’s Five-Year Consolidated Plan for FY 2024-2028. The City intends to fund such projects as Program Administration, Public Services, Public Infrastructure, and Housing.</li>    <li>Identification of homeless and special needs activities to be undertaken during the 2023 annual program period to address identified needs within the City.</li>    <li>The Strategic Plan for the next five years of CDBG allocations as laid out in the 5-Year Consolidated Plan. </li></ol><p>The City is also proposing an amendment to the 2020 Annual Action Plan. Details regarding this amendment may be viewed by the public at the locations identified above between June 25, 2024 and July 24, 2024.&nbsp;</p><p>The City will hold a public hearing on July 10, 2024 at 11:00 A.M., in Council Chambers&nbsp;116 W Beverley St, Staunton, VA 24401 to solicit citizen comments on the 2024-2028 5-year Consolidated Plan, the 2024 Annual Action Plan, and the proposed amendment to the FY2020 Annual Action Plan. The City will make reasonable accommodations and services necessary for sensory-impaired and disabled citizens at the public meeting. Additionally, translation services may be offered upon request and availability.
