Every five years, the City of Staunton reviews land use and transportation and sets general priorities for the future in its Comprehensive Plan. The review is conducted by an advisory committee composed of Staunton citizens, and the updated, final plan serves as a guide for 20 years.

The updated Comprehensive Plan is then passed on to the Planning Commission, and eventually, City Council, for review and adoption.

On Monday, Aug. 6, the Planning Commission will hold a work session at 4:45 p.m. in the Caucus Room at City Hall for the residents of the City of Staunton to review the long-range goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan and provide input and comments. Residents, businesses and others are encouraged to take the time to get involved with the Comprehensive Plan process. Public input and support are vital to the success of Staunton’s future.
