NOTICE OF PUBLIC NEEDS HEARING
CITY OF STAUNTON, VIRGINIA
FY 2025 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM
Notice is hereby given that the City of Staunton, VA (City) is currently preparing its FY 2025 Annual Action Plan. The City will receive FY 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and will conduct a public hearing on the use of these funds for FY 2025 (October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026). The City intends to submit its Annual Action Plan to HUD on or before August 15, 2025.
In accordance with the Final Rule for revised program regulations, 24 CFR, Parts 91, et. al., the City intends to conduct a public needs hearing to obtain information related to housing and community development needs, and input on the development needs in the City for specific CDBG eligible activities. The city will hold a public hearing on May 27, 2025 at 11:00 am in Council Chambers 116 W Beverley St., Staunton Virginia 24401.

The purpose of the hearing is as follows:
- Obtain the views and comments of individuals and organizations concerning the City's housing and community development needs. The information gathered will be used in the preparation of the Consolidated Plan elements for Fiscal Year 2025 Community Development Block Grant and related Programs.
- Provide an opportunity for citizens and organizations, non-profits and City Departments to make requests for funding for projects or suggest activities that could be funded with CDBG funds that would meet community needs.
- Review the City’s CDBG Programs and provide an opportunity for the public to comment on program performance.
The City expects to publish a draft of its Annual Action Plan for FY 2025 on or about June 24, 2025. A copy of these documents will be placed on public display for a thirty (30) day review period beginning on or about June 24, 2025. A second public hearing will be duly advertised and conducted to present the proposed plan to the public.
