NOTICE

Vice Mayor Darby and Councilmember Edwards hereby call a special meeting of Staunton City Council. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, 7:15 p.m. local time, in the City Council Caucus Room on the 1st floor of City Hall, 116 West Beverley Street, for the purpose of: 

• conducting a closed session (i) pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711(A)(8) for consultation with legal counsel concerning contractual, litigation, and negotiation matters related to Staunton Circuit Court case CL21-500 and Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711 (A)(7) to consult with legal counsel pertaining to actual litigation in the matter of Staunton Circuit Court case CL21-500; and (ii) pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711 (A)(3) for the acquisition of real property located in the Downtown Service District as defined in Title 3 of the Staunton City Code. 

They request that the Clerk of Council provide notice of this memorandum in accordance with Chapter II, Section 7, of the Staunton City Charter, post and otherwise widely publicize notice of this memorandum. They also request that the Clerk of Council email a copy of this memorandum to all members and members-elect of City Council.

As this is a closed meeting, there will be no opportunity for public comment.
