During the workshop, participants will:
- convert a heavy plastic pickle barrel into a functional rain barrel
- learn how to install and maintain a rain barrel
- learn how rain barrels impact local waterways
- learn the role of rain barrels in water conservation and water quality protection
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that may get dirty, bring work gloves and drive a vehicle that can transport a 55-gallon rain barrel. Assistance will be provided for construction of the barrel. Barrels, tools and other building supplies will be provided.

Workshop will be limited to 15 rain barrels. Each barrel may have up to 2 participants and 10 rain barrel registrations will be reserved for residents of the City of Staunton.
