NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY FOR REVIEW  

FY 2022 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN 

FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM FUNDS 

and 

FINAL PUBLIC HEARING 

In accordance with the federal regulations at 24 CFR Part 91, the City of Staunton has prepared an Annual Action Plan (AAP) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development and Planning Programs.  This document is a requirement for direct financial assistance under certain HUD funding programs including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.  The AAP covers Fiscal Year 2022 beginning October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023.  The City of Staunton anticipates receiving $317,340 in CDBG funds for the program year beginning on October 1, 2022.                                                                

The City intends to submit all documents to HUD on or before August 15, 2022. Interested persons are encouraged to express their views, in writing, on this document to William Vaughn, Director of Community and Economic Development, City of Staunton, PO Box 58, Staunton, VA 24402 or vaughnwl@ci.staunton.va.us. All comments received on or before July 28, 2022, will be considered and appended to the documents. 

The City will hold a public hearing July 14, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Council Chambers 116 W Beverley St, Staunton Virginia 24401 to solicit citizen comments on the Annual Plan. The FY 2022 Annual Action Plan contains the following major components: 

Identification of federal and non-federal resources reasonably expected to be made available during the program year to undertake activities. 

1. A list of activities to be undertaken during the FY 2022 program year to address community development and housing needs established in the City’s Five-Year Consolidated Plan for FY 2019-2023. The City intends to fund such projects as Program Administration, Public Services, Public Infrastructure, and Housing.
2. Identification of homeless and special needs activities to be undertaken during the 2022 annual program period to address identified needs within the City.
3. Identification of homeless and special needs activities to be undertaken during the 2022 annual program period to address identified needs within the City.
