The City of Staunton, VA is currently preparing its FY 2022 Annual Action Plan. The City will receive FY 2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and will conduct a public hearing on the use of these funds for FY 2022 (October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023). The City intends to submit its Annual Action Plan to HUD on or before August 16, 2022. 

In accordance with the Final Rule for revised program regulations, 24 CFR, Parts 91, et. al., the City intends to conduct a public needs hearing to obtain information related to housing and community development needs, and input on the development needs in the City for specific CDBG eligible activities. The City will hold a public hearing on May 12, 2022.

The purpose of the public needs meeting is to obtain the views and comments of individuals and organizations concerning the City’s housing and non-housing community development needs during the FY 2022 program year. The information gathered will be used in the preparation of the Annual Action Plan submission for the FY 2022 Program Year. 

The City expects to publish a draft of its Annual Action Plan for FY 2022 on or about June 28, 2022. A copy of these documents will be placed on public display for a thirty (30) day review period beginning on or about June 28, 2022. A second public hearing will be duly advertised and conducted to present the proposed plan to the public.
