New Year's Day Holiday

City offices and the Staunton Public Library will be closed in observance of New Year's Day. The trash and recycling pickup schedule will be posted in the Newsroom when available.

Trash Pickup

Residential: Residential trash collections regularly scheduled for Monday, Jan. 2, will be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Downtown Central Business District (CBD): All CBD customers will receive trash collection on Wednesdays, Jan. 4, but will not receive trash collection on Monday, Jan. 2.  The regular collection schedule will resume on Thursday, Jan. 5.

Recycling Center Hours

The Recycling Center will be closed Saturday, Dec. 31 through Monday, Jan. 2.  Regular operations resume Tuesday, Jan. 3. 

Christmas Tree Pickup

The city will collect discarded Christmas trees on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Residents should place trees at the curb by 7 a.m. that day. The trees will be recycled and used as mulch at the Augusta Regional Landfill, so all decorations (lights, ornaments, tinsel, etc.) must be removed.

Library Hours

The Staunton Public Library will be closed Sunday, Jan. 1 and Monday, Jan. 2, with regular operations resuming Tuesday, Jan. 3. The outdoor book drop will be open for returns, and digital books and other online resources are available 24/7 at www.StauntonLibrary.org.

Administrative Offices

Administrative offices for the city of Staunton will be closed Monday, Jan. 2.
