Mayor Oakes hereby calls a special meeting of Staunton City Council. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. local time, in the Rita S. Wilson Council Chambers located on the 1st floor at City Hall, 116 West Beverley Street. The purpose of the meeting is the following:
- To discuss and interview candidates for the position of Clerk of Council.
The discussions and interviews will occur in a closed portion of the meeting.
Mayor Oakes requested that the Interim Clerk of Council provide notice of this memorandum in accordance with Chapter II, Section 7, of the Staunton City Charter, post and otherwise widely publicize notice of this memorandum. She also requested that the Interim Clerk of Council email a copy of this memorandum to all members of City Council.
Arrangements for public access to the open portions of the meeting will be by streamed live broadcast on the City’s webpage at www.staunton.va.us/council and by television broadcast on Comcast Channel 7.

Since the meeting includes a closed meeting, there will be no opportunity for public comment.
